Sad and Angry after watching The Cove

I'm still reeling after watching The Cove, chosen as an audience best of fest documentary at Sundance 2009. This powerful and important film reveals the horrifying and inhumane slaughter of many thousands of dolphins that is taking place every year in a small Japanese town called Taiji.
Featuring footage captured CSI-style by activists working with the Ocean Preservation Society, the movie shows how the Japanese government is complicit in the slaughter, and in covering up the sale of dolphin meat tainted with extremely toxic levels of mercury to an unsuspecting Japanese public. The entire scandal is driven by the highly profitable sale of dolphin slaves to tourist attractions featuring performing dolphins and "swim with dolphins" programs worldwide. Please visit www.savejapandolphins.org to learn more about this deplorable crime against nature and humanity.
